Monday was a beautiful day for a run! 3.5 miles done although slightly tougher than I'd envisaged as the wind from last week had blown so much sand onto the promenade I did feel like I was running on the beach! Also, my calf's felt tight as soon as I started the walk at the end and I could feel a blister forming. Not good to have a blister this early into training but I was hoping it was either my socks or the amount of sand I had in my trainers!
However, I then ended up with a matching blister on my other foot during my run on Wednesday! But it was a nice run somewhere I haven't been since I stopped running because of my ankle. This was also the place I got a new 5km PB all that time ago - obviously was a lot slower this time! I do keep having to remind myself that I am meant to be going slowly and not trying to force the speed. However, I still managed 4.5 miles so I was happy with that!
Saturday's run felt quite intimidating, although it wasn't that much of a jump from the previous week's "long" run. Maybe it was because I decided to do a loop, rather than an out and back route - but of course I don't really know what distance I'm going to cover! However, actually I got it about right although I did have to add on a bit compared to what I thought! It was quite a varied run as included road running, trail through some woods and along the water! Noticed my neck feeling stiff during the run so not sure what is going on there! Anyway, 6.5 fairly enjoyable miles!
